Among other things, around 3,500 grams of the highly sensitive explosive TATP and black powder, sawed-off metal pipes and films where the 38-year-old, in various locations in Västerås, has test-detonated his bombs were found in the apartment.

The police were later able to determine that explosions had occurred at the locations.

Several of the test blasts must have been carried out on a cycle path between Lövstagatan and Fläckebogatan in Västerås and on Bjurhovdagatan in Västerås.

Built bombs

Because of this, the man is also charged with preparation for public destruction and violation of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.

A rifle barrel with a firing box and several different types of narcotics were also found in the apartment, which means that the man is also suspected of weapons and drug crimes.

In addition to that, the man is also charged with falsification of documents as he had several different falsified ID documents in the apartment.

Two more men are charged

The other man who is charged with several cases of violations of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods is said to be a 38-year-old who was involved in the test explosions at various locations in Västerås.

A 59-year-old man is also accused of violating the Explosives Precursors Act when he allegedly supplied the 38-year-old with substances that together constitute the ingredients for making bombs.

In connection with the explosion, the 38-year-old main accused received life-threatening injuries and has been cared for in intensive care units in Uppsala and Västerås for some time.

- My ambition is for him to be present during the negotiations, then I don't know how much he can take, says chambers prosecutor Carl-Johan Norström, who leads the prosecution against the man.

Norström also says that the man will probably receive a penalty discount due to his extensive injuries.
