Norway: a report attests to flaws in the digital system of the armies

Europe's main supplier of natural gas, Norway deployed the military around its port and oil and gas facilities in the days following the explosions on the NordStream gas pipelines.

In this sensitive context, a damning report, published on Monday, October 3, warns of flaws in the digital system of the Norwegian armies.

The Norwegian equivalent of the Court of Auditors, the very serious Riksrevisjonen, considered “

extremely serious 

” the lack of security of the information systems of the army and the Ministry of Defense.

In a public report, purged of confidential material, the institution indicates that it could be difficult for Norway to defend itself against a targeted digital attack.

The Minister of Defense immediately declared that he took

these conclusions “

very seriously  ”.

In recent days, unidentified drones have been spotted near platforms in the North Sea.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store said he had received no direct threats, but "

we can't be naive

 ", he said, revealing that his country would receive help from Great Britain. Brittany, Germany and France to ensure the safety of its more than 90 gas and oil fields, linked by nearly 9,000 kilometers of pipelines.
