China News Service, October 4th. According to Yonhap News Agency, on the 4th local time, the South Korean Ministry of Defense stated that the headquarters of the Korea-US Allied Forces Command in Yongsan District, Seoul will be relocated to Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do.

The relocation work will be completed by the end of October.

  According to the plan, about 700 South Korean and American officers and soldiers will all move into the new camp by the end of the month, and the relocation ceremony will be held next month.

  South Korea and the United States reached an agreement on the relocation at the defense ministers' meeting in June 2019, and then began preparations for the relocation.

After the relocation, the ROK-US Allied Forces Command will leave the Yongsan base where it has been stationed for 44 years since 1978.

  According to reports, most of the manpower, facilities and equipment of the Yongsan base have been moved to Pyeongtaek, and now the main work is to relocate the headquarters and communication equipment of the South Korea-US Allied Forces Command.
