For the past four years, Aneby has been governed by the traditional alliance parties the Moderates, the Center Party, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals.

But even though they continued to have their own majority after the election, KD and C now choose to cooperate with S instead. Together, the coalition collects 19 out of 35 seats in the municipal council.

- Municipal politics is largely about pragmatism and action, about finding solutions to the problems and challenges that are both on the table and those that can be foreseen in the longer term.

The coalition in Aneby municipality is very close to each other in terms of the view of how the political board should handle both the simple and the more complicated issues going forward, says Beata Allen, group leader for the Center Party, in a press release.

L critical

The Liberals, who together with the Moderates are now excluded from the government, are critical of the new majority.

- The voters in Aneby municipality gave the Alliance for Aneby renewed confidence and a majority of its own.

Unfortunately, not all parties were willing to take advantage of that trust, and the Center Party and the Christian Democrats now choose instead to cooperate with the Social Democrats.

We regret that within the Liberals, who would rather have seen a continued liberal, bourgeois majority government, writes Jimmy Ekström (L) in a press release.
