The body of a man was discovered in a marshy area in a wood in Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (Yvelines), this Monday at the start of the afternoon.

The man, aged 79 and suffering from Alzheimer's disease, had left his home in the same town that day and had not been seen since.

Discovered by two firefighters

A search was launched in the following days.

A hunt bringing together gendarmes and 70 volunteers was organized on Saturday.

Finally, two firefighters from Mantes-la-Jolie, who “continued the research on their rest time”, found the body, indicated a source with the Ile-de-France daily.

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the death of the septuagenarian.

This one could have died of fatigue and cold.
