At least 54 people died in Lee County alone, according to a statement from Police Chief Carmine Marceno on Monday.

Remaining deaths are scattered across several different counties in the state.

More than 1,600 people have been rescued from the hurricane in the past week, Gov. Ron DeSanti's office reported Sunday.

Nearly 600,000 Florida homes, businesses and properties were still without power as of Monday afternoon, according to PowerOutage.us.

Many are also without clean drinking water.
