Bad weather warning for self-service scooters.
The town hall of Paris last Thursday issued a one-month ultimatum to the three operators of "free floating" scooters to find solutions to limit dangerous uses and street congestion.
“All the options are on the table, including that of stopping the agreement” at the expiry of the contract in February 2023, also indicated David Belliard, the EELV assistant for mobility and roads.
His political group also went further by “asking the Mayor of Paris for the non-renewal of the authorizations for free-floating scooters”, in a press release published in the wake of the decision of the town hall of Paris.
For the Greens, “the account is still not there” denouncing “scooters […] still too often found on the sidewalks” and the inability of operators “to enforce the basics of the Highway Code for their users es”.
"Accidents involving scooters are exploding and pedestrians can't take it anymore," the text adds.
