Twitter has announced that it has started testing a new media player that aims to make it easier for users to find and watch videos, with two new updates.

Twitter said the new media player will be available in the coming days for people who use Twitter in English on the iOS operating system.

Twitter said on its blog that videos have become a large part of public conversations and the most attractive type of content on the Internet, noting that the videos shared on its platform have billions of views each year.

Watch more videos

The updated Twitter media player expands videos to fill the screen with a single tap, enabling a full and immersive viewing experience for the first time.

To activate full screen mode, simply click on the video clip.

The new media player also includes a feature to discover more videos;

Just scroll up to start browsing more engaging content.

If you want to exit full screen mode and go back to the original Tweet, just click the back arrow in the upper left corner.

Hard keeping my mouth sewn shut about this one.

Twitter stated that through the new video library, the user can easily find more videos along with tweets and trends that may interest him.

To try this feature, just open the Explore tab to discover some of the most popular videos shared on Twitter.

The platform said that the new video player is currently available in select countries that use the English language on iOS and Android.

Twitter concluded its blog that with this update, it aims to make its services easy to use for everyone in a way that best suits their needs, and videos (including fun teaser videos) are an important part of that.
