“Mr. Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc, you wanted Ramier Island?

We are there, as you wished!

#MontageEnCours ” On social networks, the fairgrounds summarize the state of mind in which they have been since the start of the showdown with the town hall of Toulouse, concerning the holding of the Saint-Michel festival this year.

After the announcement, for lack of agreement between the two parties, of the cancellation of the 2022 edition of this essential event for five decades, the fairgrounds decided to play the passage in force.

Saturday at 4 o'clock in the morning, about twenty caravans settled "without any prior authorization" specifies the town hall, on the island of Ramier.

Then the carnies started setting up their rides.

“In order to secure the premises, and to prevent other illegal installations, the municipal police deployed” adds the municipality.

Eviction procedure

Mayor Jean-Luc Moudenc reacted immediately.

In a press release, he “condemns what must be called a coup de force, in defiance of all security rules.

“Despite the discussions we have had with them in recent weeks, some showmen have chosen not to respect the commitments made.

»

“It is a place that the town hall had proposed to us at the base, indicates for his part a fairground in the columns of

La Dépêche du Midi

.

It's clearly too small for 96 rides, but as there are only 18 of us today, that's fine with us.

»

According to the elected official, “this intrusion compromises the elements of convergence that we were able to outline last week, and undermines the trust essential to the work to be carried out jointly for the coming years.

A bailiff came to the scene to record the violation, and the mayor launched an eviction procedure.
