The hundreds of delegates gathered in the framework of the Inclusive National Dialogue adopted several measures on Saturday, October 1 by "

consensus

", in particular by maintaining the head of the military junta at the head of the State and by extending the period of transition to elections.

Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno will then be allowed to be a presidential candidate, while the transition was supposed to end on October 20.

Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno

and Pahimi Padacké Albert may be candidates in the next elections at the end of the transition: this is one of the main resolutions of this Saturday's plenary.

The

participants in the Inclusive National Dialogue

also decided to grant a five-year mandate renewable only once to the next elected president.

He should not modify the Constitution under any pretext to serve a third term, reports

our correspondent in Ndjamena,

Madjiasra Nako

The National Transitional Council, the Provisional Parliament, must also be reviewed: the number of representatives sitting there must increase with 45 representatives of the rebel movements.

This provoked an outcry from political parties.

In response, a representative of the rebels saw fit to recall: “

For 30

years, you pretended to oppose.

We had to take up arms for a transition to be necessary.

Please calm down.

 »

What is rather curious, reports our

special envoy to Ndjamena

,

Esdras Ndikumana,

the palace of January 15 was three quarters empty when the plenary adopted by simple applause these resolutions which set a course on issues judged by all so far. essential for Chad.

The most notable absences, especially those of the fiercest opponents of the eligibility of the head of the military junta in power, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, and of the other leaders of the transition.

The games were played in advance

 ”

Reactions began to fall.

"

Our presence would not have changed anything, since the games were

already decided  ," said Mahamat Bichara, president of the Socialist Alliance.

For him, this is a missed opportunity for Chad to "

make peace and reconcile with itself

 ".

“

We are once again going straight to protest and violence

,” he regretted.

Yoboïdé Malloum, president of the PDSA and spokesperson for Alliance 43, which brings together 34 parties allied with the MPS, the former party of Idriss Déby, speaks instead of a resolution taken "

in the name of peace and reconciliation of the Chadian people

 ”.

He says who will firmly support the President of the Transitional Military Council.

Finally, Mahamat Mahadi Ali, the leader of FACT behind the attack which cost the life of Idriss Déby Itno assures us that he has always said that if the resolutions of the Dialogue went in the direction of the will of the Chadian people , “

we were ready to put an end to our armed struggle

 ”.

Unfortunately, we are seeing a dynastic drift in the transmission of power, which gives full meaning to our choice

 ," warned the rebel leader.
