The Constitutional Court of Russia accepted the appeals of President Vladimir Putin on the verification of the constitutionality of international treaties on the admission to Russia of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

“The appeal has been accepted for consideration,” the Russian Agency for Legal and Judicial Information quotes the text of the messages.

As the chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation Valery Zorkin previously pointed out, the process will not be long.

“Constitutional and legal formalization is taking place, and changes are made to the list of subjects of the Russian Federation by presidential decree,” he explained on the air of the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

According to TASS with reference to Zorkin, the results of consideration of applications will be published in the coming days.

It is noted that four appeals were received on Friday, September 30.

On this day, in the Georgievsky Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace, Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the entry into the Russian Federation of the LPR and DPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

The ceremony was attended by their heads - Leonid Pasechnik, Denis Pushilin, Vladimir Saldo and Evgeny Balitsky.

If the treaties are recognized as constitutional, a draft law on their ratification should be submitted to the State Duma, while another document will determine the status, name and boundaries of the new subjects of the Russian Federation.

After approval by the lower house of parliament, both documents must be approved by the Federation Council.

The signing of the agreements was preceded by referendums held in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions from 23 to 27 September.

According to the results of processing 100% of the ballots in the DPR, 99.23% of those who voted for joining the Russian Federation, in the LPR - 98.42%, in the Kherson region - 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region - 93.11%.

“People living in Luhansk and Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye become our citizens forever”

Behind the decision of millions of residents of the DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to join the Russian Federation is a common fate and a thousand-year history.

This was stated by Vladimir Putin during his speech before the signing ceremony.

According to him, there is nothing stronger than the determination of people who, by their culture, faith, traditions, language, consider themselves part of Russia, to return to their true, historical Fatherland.

“For a long eight years, people in the Donbass were subjected to genocide, shelling and blockade, and in Kherson and Zaporozhye they tried to criminally cultivate hatred for Russia, for everything Russian.

Now, already during the referendums, the Kyiv regime threatened with violence, death to school teachers, women who worked in election commissions, intimidated millions of people who came to express their will with repressions.

But the unbroken people of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson had their say.

I want the Kyiv authorities and their real masters in the West to hear me, so that everyone remembers this: people living in Lugansk and Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye become our citizens forever,” the Russian president said.

The head of state pointed out that Russia will protect these lands with all available forces and means and will do everything to ensure the safe life of people in these territories.

Later, during the rally-concert “People's Choice.

Together forever,” the Russian leader once again stated that everything would be done to ensure security, revive the economy, restore infrastructure in the DPR and LPR, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

“We have become stronger because we are together.

The truth is behind us, and in truth there is strength, which means victory!

Victory will be ours!"

Putin said.
