French Permanent Representative Nicolas de Rivière, “having lost his temper due to unconvincing criticism” of the Western camp regarding Russian approaches, in violation of the norms and practices of the Security Council, did not allow Kupriyanov, who was invited to the event, to answer the incorrect accusations against Gazprom, the diplomat wrote in Telegram.

“In doing so, the French presidency completely exposed itself, because earlier, at all stages, calls for dialogue and for taking into account the opinions of others were the hallmark of the French in the Security Council,” he noted.

However, once it got down to business, it all came down to "a banal attempt to silence the speaker," Polyansky added.

“What Sergei could not say, we posted on the social networks of the Permanent Mission,” he stressed.

On the eve of the UN Security Council, at the initiative of Russia, a meeting was held regarding the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 lines.

Kupriyanov was invited there as a speaker, who made a report, but at the end of the meeting the French side did not allow him to make a number of comments on what he heard at the meeting.
