- We see an infinitely large need.

We meet people every day who suffer from various ailments, says Gunnar Dahlqvist, director of operations at Hela människan.

People who live in homelessness, addiction or other forms of social vulnerability come to Hela mänsinnan in Jönköping, and not infrequently they need medical care, says Gunnar Dahlqvist.

But now they should be able to get help more easily through the doctor's office that opens on the second floor of their premises.

- We want to work with somatic care.

It could be a wound that needs dressing or that you have an infection and need antibiotics.

Then the doctor can write a prescription, says Göran Runesson, director of operations at Rosenlund's health center in Jönköping.

Hope to lower the threshold for care

The reception will now open on Wednesday 5 October and will then be open every other Wednesday in even weeks between 10.30 and 12.00.

On each occasion, a doctor and a district nurse will be on site.

According to Gunnar Dahlqvist, the possibility of medical care has not existed at Hela människan in Jönköping before and it is something that has been sorely lacking.

- This is a fantastic opportunity and there will be a lower threshold for access to healthcare, he says.

If the trial goes well, Hela människan in Värnamo and Nässjö may also get a doctor's office, according to Göran Runesson.

- We think that this is a trust we have to build.

In the beginning, no one may come, but eventually they may want to meet us.
