With our correspondent in the region,

Serge Daniel

The few witnesses who saw Prime Minister Choguel Maïga when he left the clinic are unanimous: he is doing much better.

But he has not yet completely regained his pre-illness form.

He still drags after-effects from the cerebral vascular accident which struck him down for a while.

According to our information, he will continue his rehabilitation for a while, with the help of a renowned Malian physiotherapist.

Politically, we should in principle soon have a clarification.

Certainly Choguel Maïga still bears the title of “Prime Minister”.

He still has his official residence, but in the current state, he cannot bear the weight of the function, working for example 15 hours a day as he sometimes did, recognizes one of his relatives.

In the meantime, an interim has been appointed to the Primature.

Colonel Abdoulaye Maïga occupies the chair for the moment, while retaining his post as Minister of Territorial Administration.

Will it be confirmed?

Are we heading towards a ministerial reshuffle, wonder several interlocutors.

In the meantime, the convalescent Choguel Maïga seems to be moving further and further away from the Primature.
