- We had obviously planned to supply the local and regional market with Swedish tomatoes during the winter.

But now it will not be so depending on the electricity prices.

We will not have winter production this year, says tomato grower Thomas Lilja.

According to Thomas Lilja, he is just one of many who are canceling the winter cultivation of tomatoes in northern Europe.

Now he warns that more expensive tomatoes are to be expected in the shops this winter.

- The tomatoes that will be produced and supply all of Europe this winter come from Spain and Morocco.

But that is not enough, instead there will be shortages and very high consumer prices, says Thomas Lilja.

Follow him into the greenhouse and hear him tell more in the video above.

Higher prices for tomatoes are to be expected this winter, according to grower Thomas Lilja.
