The UAE provides food supplies to those affected by the floods in Mauritania

Today, Friday, the UAE sent a plane carrying foodstuffs to relief several cities and villages affected by the recent torrential rains in southern and eastern Mauritania, to meet the basic needs of thousands of families, especially the elderly, women and children.

Hamad Ghanem Al Muhairi, the country's ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, said: "These supplies come within the framework of the strong brotherly relations between the two brotherly countries, and within the humanitarian role played by the UAE in providing relief to the needy and those affected by various disasters that threaten food security."

He pointed to the continuous support from the UAE to provide aid to the brothers in Mauritania by sending various food and medical supplies during the last period, which included sending a food supply plane in April of last year, as well as sending 3 medical aid planes to support the country's efforts to confront the Covid-19 pandemic.
