Suspected of plotting an assassination attempt on the President of Kazakhstan was sentenced to 17 years

This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the court. 

“By partial addition of punishments, a sentence of 17 years in prison with serving in institutions of the penitentiary system of maximum security was finally assigned to serve,” the court said.

The verdict was passed on September 28, it has not yet entered into force.

In April, the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan announced that a foreign intelligence agent who was planning an assassination attempt on Tokayev had been detained in the country.
