Nord Stream, Russian services: we have evidence that it was the West

Russian intelligence says they already have some evidence pointing to a role of the West in organizing and carrying out the explosions that knocked out the Nord Stream pipelines.

This was stated by the head of the Russian external intelligence service

, according to what the news agency Ria Novosti reported today. 

"We already have some materials that point the western trail in the organization and implementation of the terrorist attack" on the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, said SVR head Sergey Naryshkin.

"In my opinion, the West is doing everything to hide the real perpetrators and organizers of this terrorist attack," he added. 

United States on Nord Stream: "Investigations must first be completed"

"Only once the investigation into the nature of the explosions that caused four gas leaks from Nord Stream 1 and 2 is" completed will it be possible to "determine with certainty what happened." US Defense Secretary Lloyd said today. Austin, after a bilateral in Hawaii with his Filipino counterpart, Jose Faustino Jr.        

According to CNN, Austin - who spoke with Danish Defense Minister Morten Bodskov in the past few hours - said he had offered the Copenhagen government "all the assistance the United States can provide".

The impact on the climate

According to Greenpeace, the potential climate impact of the methane spill from Nord stream 1 + 2 could be "30 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent over a period of 20 years. Equal to the annual emissions of 20 million cars in the EU".
