It is now clear which members of the Riksdag will work in which of the Riksdag's total of 16 committees if you count the EU committee.

In the press release, it is clear that the Sweden Democrats are awarded the majority of important positions at the same time as the Moderates are awarded the post of chairman of the finance committee.

The Sweden Democrats are assigned the post of chairman of the labor market committee, the business committee, the justice committee and the foreign affairs committee.

The moderates receive, among other things, the post of chairman of the finance committee.

SD gets the opportunity to exceed the block limit

According to SVT's political commentator Mats Knutson, the nominations can be seen as a "clear success for SD", but that at the same time it indicates that they will not get a place in the government.

- It is not least about getting the chairman's post in the justice committee, where all proposals that have to do with crime fighting and criminal policy legislation are processed, he says.

At least as important is that SD has four members in almost all committees, this creates an opportunity for the party to form a majority with the opposition, according to Knutson.

M's post in the finance committee is expected

Mats Knutson believes that there is also a symbolic value for the SD to get a seat on the foreign affairs committee, but that it will not have a substantive political value as many parties are more in agreement on issues related to foreign policy.

The other nominations, he says, are quite expected.

- It is above all expected that the Moderates will get the finance committee and the EU committee.

For them, above all, the finance committee is the most important, because this is where the budget is processed, he says.

In the short term, he does not believe that the nominations will be of much importance at the beginning, as one can expect the government to have a secure majority in the Riksdag.

- The question is what significance it will have after one to two years when wear and tear starts to occur.
