The Executive Director of the Welfare and Social Development Sector at the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Huraiz Al Murr bin Huraiz, said that the number of the authority’s partners in the Thukher Card for senior citizens has reached more than 200, with 28 new entities joining, and the total services provided by the card has reached nearly 657. He called on those wishing to contribute to the Thukher Card to communicate with the authority through the official channels.

He explained that the number of Thukher card holders reached 10,694 senior citizens, through which they can obtain facilities for services from government agencies, discounts and facilities from private partners in the card, which include institutions, health centers, home nursing companies, leading commercial centers, and a large number of Service companies.

Bin Huraiz added that the keenness of partners and community members to celebrate and honor senior citizens on all occasions contributed to an increase in the number of activities and events at Thukher Social Club, to reach 2,155 cultural, sports, entertainment and social activities this year.

And he indicated that the number of Thukher Club members reached 394, and 2,026 services were provided to them this year, explaining that the home care service "Waleef" is one of the most prominent services provided by the authority to senior citizens living alone in the Emirate of Dubai, and the authority indicated that the number of beneficiaries of the service is currently 43 During the current year, more than 3716 home and coordination visits were carried out to serve them by the caretakers of the authority.

The authority allocates a hotline to receive reports of all elderly people in the emirate and deal with them according to their degree of danger, and this year the hotline received 30 reports, 25 of which were classified as dangerous, and all of them were dealt with within the response time and in the interest of the elderly.

He pointed out that the authority is keen to employ the expertise and knowledge of senior citizens registered in the Thukher Club and to preserve their cultural heritage through "generational communication".

The authority revealed that about 1,500 people participated in the "Connecting Generations" lectures presented by senior citizens to school students this year, to familiarize them with the stages of development that the state went through before the union and to transfer experiences and lessons learned to the younger generations.

The number of lectures this year reached 30, held in cooperation with 11 educational, cultural and sports institutions, and 24 senior citizens who are members of Thukher Club participated.

In addition, the Community Development Authority in Dubai organized an event for senior citizens in the Umm Suqeim Council of the authority, in the presence of 16 government and private agencies from the authority's partners supporting the services of senior citizens and a number of families.
