A story is told of an American woman in her 50s who collected her remains by draining all the water from the pond herself to find the body of her son, who was murdered seven years ago.
His son, Edward, was 32 years old when he was murdered by two friends in 2015.
The criminals confessed that "the bodies were tied to bricks and thrown into a nearby pond," and the police recovered some of the remains for investigation.
According to his mother, Connie, the police promised to find the rest of the son's remains and get the job done, but each time they came up with new excuses.

In the end, Connie and her family decided to collect the remains themselves.
After going in a kayak and pumping water, the bereaved family found bones and concrete bricks in the mud within two hours of starting work.
He later informed the local coroner of the discovery of the remains and confirmed that it belonged to his son Edward.
