It is in a letter to Region Halland that Benny Strandberg (KD) renounces his political duties and applies for adjustment support, a type of safety net for ex-politicians.
According to Hallandsposten, Strandberg (KD) may be entitled to eleven months' wages, a total of SEK 715,121.

It was at the end of August that the research company Acta Publica and Expressen revealed that the high-profile regional politician Benny Strandberg (KD) has connections to various MC gangs.
Among other things, that he has been to a party with the Hells Angels and Cult MC.
Shortly after the disclosure, Strandberg announced that he was withdrawing from candidacy for regional council and municipal council.
Before he dropped out of the autumn election, he was the party's fourth name on the regional list and eighth name on the municipal list in Kungsbacka.
