The visit of the emissaries of the sub-regional institution was also very well attended by the very influential religious leader of the Malian locality of Nioro.

He also intervened with a view to the release of the 46 Ivorian soldiers, after having received the day before a delegation from Côte d'Ivoire including in particular a Malian businessman and a very popular adviser to the Ivorian president.
