That the she-wolf gives birth to eight pups is completely normal, even if it is in the upper range.
The wolves in the pictures are around two months old and the fact that so many have survived their first period indicates that there is plenty of food in the Siggefora area outside Uppsala.
The father is considered to be genetically important and the fact that so many puppies were born can be positive for the Swedish wolves.
- That so many puppies come out of the territory in the long run can be positive for inbreeding for the entire Swedish wolf tribe, says Sebastian Olofsson, wildlife officer at the county board in Uppsala.
How many wolves are now in the area is currently unknown, as several last year's pups may have left the area.

Wolf creates anxiety
But more wolves can also lead to increased concern, especially among animal owners.
However, wolf attacks on domestic livestock have decreased this year, according to the county administrative board.
- Wolf attacks on, for example, sheep appear to be very random.
Last year there were many attacks in a short time, but then fewer puppies were born.
So far this year, we are not aware of any attacks on domestic animals, says Sebastian Olofsson.
What can you do to protect your animals?
