Mourning in the entertainment world: Bruno Arena, of the duo Fichi d'India, has passed away.

The comedian, 65, was struck by a severe brain aneurysm in 2013 while recording an episode of Zelig.

After several long months spent in the hospital and, then, in a rehabilitation clinic, the artist had struggled to recover various functions even if the stroke had left the marks of his passage.

The news came first from social networks, with Paolo Belli's tweet of condolence.

Last winter Max Cavallari, friend and colleague of the duo, had posted a photo of them together on Facebook where Arena had appeared in a wheelchair.

Over the years, the comedian has never stopped being close to him.

Milanese but originally from Messina on his father's side, Bruno Arena had started his first steps in the world of comedy by performing as a tourist entertainer until he met Cavallari in 1988, the year in which they founded I fichi d'India.

Success at the national level came ten years later, first on Radio Deejay with Marco Baldini, then with Sai the Ultima on Canale 5. On Mediaset networks, the consecration to the general public came from the Zelig and Colorado broadcast stage.
