- On October 31, free travel will be removed for all Ukrainian refugees in Kronoberg County and in all counties in Southern Sweden, says Carina Bengtsson (C), chairman of the traffic committee in Region Kronoberg.

It was on the fourth of March that the traffic committee in Region Kronoberg decided that all refugees from Ukraine would be allowed to ride free public transport in the entire county.

"Can pay like everyone else"

Almost eight months later, free travel is removed, and Ukrainian refugees have to pay to travel on public transport.

The formal decision will be made next week.

- They have to pay like everyone else or the Swedish Migration Agency can take over that responsibility, says Carina Bengtsson (C).
