The method of using electricity is significantly gentler than fishing with nets, says fisheries biologist Stefan Thorfve.

- If you fish with nets, the mortality rate for the fish is close to 100 percent, while with electricity only around one percent, if you generalize, he says.

Most worth protecting

The purpose of the inventory is to locate regeneration habitats for predatory fish in the coastal belt.

- You see very little pike in the outer archipelago, usually single larger specimens.

It indicates that there are problems with reproduction.

But there are some bays where we found pike fry, they are the most worthy of protection, so they must be taken care of in the best way, says Stefan Thorfve.
