Putin confirms Russia's determination to save residents of referendum zones

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed today, Tuesday, that the referendums organized by Moscow in four regions of Ukraine controlled by Russian forces are aimed at saving the residents of these regions.

"Saving the residents of all these regions where the referendum is taking place is at the heart of the interests of our society and our whole country," Putin said during a government meeting, speaking on the last day of the referendums, which were condemned by Kyiv and Westerners.
