Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin said that he was "sad" about the Democratic Party's adoption and submission of his dismissal proposal as a party argument.

Before attending the National Assembly plenary session today (27th), Minister Park said, "Diplomacy is the most important line to protect the national interest."

He also pointed out, "Right now, all countries in the world are competing fiercely for survival. In particular, the international diplomatic and security environment surrounding us is very strict."

"In such a situation, I can't help but feel really sorry for the opposition party relying on the power of the majority as a party-party strategy to make even diplomacy, the most important line of national interest, the subject of political conflict."

"If diplomacy becomes a political issue, the national interest will be damaged and the damage will inevitably go back to the people," Park said.

Prior to the plenary session, the Democratic Party submitted a proposal for dismissal of Minister Park to the Secretariat of the National Assembly in order to ask for responsibility for President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'travel diplomacy controversy'.

A proposal for the dismissal of a member of the State Council is decided by the motion of at least one-third (100) of the current members and a majority (150) in favor.

The Democratic Party currently holds 169 seats, so it can vote alone.
