Police and Carabinieri of Turin, together with firefighters and local police, evacuated this morning at dawn in Torrazza Piemonte (Turin), the villa of the affiliate of the Ndrangheta Rocco Schirripa.

Inside the building - which was confiscated in 1998 - the family of the offender had still lived for almost thirty years, despite the fact that the property had been destined for the Municipality.

Rocco Schirripa was arrested as he was held responsible for the murder of the Public Prosecutor, Bruno Caccia, which took place in Turin on June 26, 1983.

He is in prison for that crime to serve a life sentence.

In 2015 the Court of Cassation confirmed his sentence with Article 416 bis as belonging to the local 'ndrina of Moncalieri, "with the role of godfather".

The murder of the public prosecutor Caccia

It was Sunday 26 June 1983 when Bruno Caccia had, as usual, decided to give his escort a day off.

At 11.30 pm, while he was taking his dog for a walk, he was flanked by a car - a green Fiat 128 - with at least two men on board:

he was killed with 14 shots, some of which exploded at close range.

Only a month before the murder he had revoked his application for the post of Attorney General of Turin.

The investigations initially focused on the terrorist trail, also given a sort of telephone claim that reached some newspapers immediately after the murder.
