Eskilstuna municipal real estate, Kfast, is currently working on the budget for 2023. Board chairman Bertil Andersson (M) explains that they are in a new situation with increased interest rates and high costs of, for example, building materials.

Because of this, Kfast will have to raise their rents and Bertil Andersson (M) believes that the negotiations with the Tenants' Association will be difficult.

- There have been very low rent increases in the last five or six years.

It will be difficult to come to an agreement this year, he says.

He does not want to predict how much Kfast's rents can conceivably increase.

Notice April 1st

Kfast must submit a request to the Tenants' Association before the end of the year and request a negotiation in connection with it.

The hope is that the tenants will be notified of their new rent before April 1, when the current agreements expire.

- We would like the agreements to be ready sooner, says Bertil Andersson.
