The match was played at Sandvik IK's home ground in Holmsund and it was in a situation where the ball ended up outside the field and it was a whistle that the fight arose.

One of the Flarken players lost his temper and threw kicks at several of the Sandvik players, even the referee got a big slap.

Another Flarken player tackled a Sandvik player in the back with violent force.

- Our player had to take sick leave and see a doctor because he couldn't move his neck and was completely stiff, says Anders Hägglund, who is the sports director at Sandviks IK.

Closed for one year

The disciplinary committee within Västerbotten's football association has now decided on a one-year suspension for one of the Flarken players and six months for the other Flarken player.

- This kind of violence does not belong on a football pitch and we have reported the incident to the police, says Anders Hägglund.

Disagree

Flarkens IK distances itself from what has happened and has also apologized.

- Something like this must not happen on a football field and this is not something we turn a blind eye to, but we work actively to curb violence on the football field, says Anders Lindgren who is the playing coach and chairman of the club.
