The corresponding decree was signed by the Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov.
“To endow Vladimir Alekseevich Chizhov with the powers of a senator of the Russian Federation from September 27, 2022 - a representative from the executive body of state power of the Republic of Karelia,” RIA Novosti quotes the text of the document.
On September 26, Russian leader Vladimir Putin relieved Chizhov of his duties as Russia's permanent representative to the EU and Euratom.
