China: Exhausted by endless confinements, residents of Shenzhen protest

The scene took place in a housing estate in the Shawei district of Shenzhen, where the metro station of the same name was closed until further notice.

Residents of 14 "high-risk areas" in three districts have been confined to their homes since midnight last night, AFP reports.

And in fifteen other districts considered to be at moderate risk, the inhabitants can only go down to the foot of their building.

Forced to present a negative Covid test for 24 hours to access the public place, residents take a dim view of the implementation of these new restrictions which cause zero-Covid fatigue to overflow.

The impression of living an endless day, while Shenzhen has experienced 

several rounds of confinement

since the beginning of this year. 

The largest electronics market in the world was even interrupted at the end of the summer


As I write this, "sensitive" content on Weibo related to what's happening in 沙尾 in Shenzhen is being actively censored (deleted) in real time.
