The owner filed a complaint with the gendarmerie on Monday, September 26 and an investigation was opened.

A six-month-old colt and a pony, kept in the same paddock, are safe.

They have since changed location as a precaution.

The many cases of mutilated animals had caused a stir in France in 2020.

Equidae but also cattle had been found injured or dead in several regions.

In the Dordogne, this is the 5th case identified, indicates the regional daily.
