The 78-year-old is convicted of several crimes in connection with the incident;
including grossly causing the death of another, gross negligence in traffic, illegal driving and gross contamination from the scene of a traffic accident.
He must also pay a total of SEK 266,396 in damages to relatives and the estate.
Arrested in Tranås
It was on May 24 this year that a man in his 50s was roller-skiing along county road 134 outside Åtvidaberg towards Kisa when he was hit by the 78-year-old.
Two days after the fatal accident, the police were alerted to an address in Tranås where the 78-year-old tried to drive away drunk.
The 78-year-old's car had damage consistent with the car involved in the accident two days earlier.
The 78-year-old man was arrested and detained on May 27 with restrictions.
