Russian Security Agency Detains and Expels Japanese Consulate General Staff for “Espionage”

Russian security agency FSB = Federal Security Service announced on the 26th that a diplomat at the Japanese Consulate General in the Far East Vladivostok was detained for spying.

According to the announcement, the Russian government has already used diplomatic channels to protest the Japanese government and detained diplomats who have been expelled from Russia as persona non grata = "undesirable persons".

A senior official at the Japanese Consulate General in Vladivostok admitted to an NHK interview, "There is no doubt that the staff of the Consulate General was detained and expelled from Russia."
