Referendums to join Russia continue in 4 Ukrainian regions

On Monday, the voting process in referendums on joining Russia continued in four Ukrainian regions controlled by Russian forces.

Voting is scheduled to end on Tuesday in the Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia regions in the referendums.

According to local officials, the minimum percentage required to participate in the referendum was reached in Kherson, which is 50%.

Russia's TASS news agency quoted the head of the Electoral Commission, Marina Zakharova, as saying today, Monday, that more than half of the 750,000 eligible voters cast their ballots.

The organizers said that participation in the Zaporizhia region has already exceeded 50%.

It was previously reported that this percentage was exceeded in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, where they recorded a participation rate of more than 70%.

Russia expects 80 to 90 percent to agree to join it.
