Japan's raw material prices skyrocketed, food companies forced to sell small packaged goods

Overseas Network, September 26. According to a report by Japan's NHK TV station on the 26th, affected by the high price of raw materials, Japanese people have saved household expenses one after another, and many Japanese food companies have to launch small packaged goods to control prices.

Nissin Flour Co. has launched home-sized okonomiyaki noodles, takoyaki noodles and pasta since this fall.

The company said that many households had previously discarded fried flour because they could not run out, causing waste, and small packages of goods could solve this problem.

The head of the company, Yuji Koike, said that small packaging can save costs, meet consumer demand and control prices.

Another Japanese flour maker, Showa Sangyo, has since September launched products that can save oil when frying tempura, affected by rising edible oil prices.

Foods that originally need to be fried can be fried with less oil.

A number of Japanese food companies have started selling home-packed products in September, and small-packaged goods have become a trend.
