“As for the self-proclaimed states of the LPR and DPR and the military administrations of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions of referendums on joining Russia, Kazakhstan proceeds from the principles of the territorial integrity of states, their sovereign equality and peaceful coexistence,” TASS quotes a representative of the Foreign Ministry.

The diplomat added that the Charter of the United Nations refers to the responsibility of the UN member states for respecting the territorial integrity of states.

On September 23, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said that referendums in the liberated territories are held in accordance with the UN Charter.
