This is reported by the infocom.am portal with reference to the Armenian Defense Ministry.

“The Ministry of Defense, based on the tasks assigned to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, has decided to refrain from participating in the exercises that will be held within the framework of the CSTO in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the statement says.

In Kazakhstan, on September 26, exercises will begin with the participation of the CSTO forces.

In August, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced joint exercises with Kazakhstan within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The CSTO includes six states - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
