She had confidence, courage, and even a lot of energy.

An 85-year-old woman received, at the end of last week, at her home in Saint Dié (Vosges), three people for the sale of a painting, reports

.

The latter being stored in the attic, the small group therefore went there.

Then one of the members of the trio, a junk dealer, found an excuse to go downstairs, leaving the octogenarian and his two accomplices alone in the attic.

Challenged by the insistent barking of his dog, the octogenarian descended before finding the individual with a statue in hand and a bag containing objects belonging to him.

The latter fled, pursued in the street by the victim.

It was then that a motorist called a police patrol allowing the arrest of the three people, already well known to the courts.

They will appear on Tuesday.
