Sony Music will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the late pop singer Michael Jackson's album Thriller in November 2022.

According to the announcement, which was made last May, the release will be full of surprises for fans of Michael Jackson, including some songs that Jackson worked on that did not actually air on the old album.

The song titles will be revealed one by one before November 18.

The album will also be released under the title "Thriller 40", in memory of one of the most successful albums, which won 8 Grammy Awards, changed the boundaries of pop music, and sold more than 100 million copies since its release on November 30, 2015. 1982 to date.

A song with scary words

The song "Thriller" is the first to include frightening words about nocturnal creatures that terrify their victims, and yet it was a great success, reinforced by the horrific portrayal of the song, as Jackson hired director John Landis, who directed the movie "An American Werewolf In London", to transform Jackson into a wolf in song.

Vincent Price, the actor known for his roles in horror films, also had the words at the end of the song, as well as his sporadic, sinister laughter.

Quincy Jones, producer of the song and the entire album, says he always imagined Vincent Price's voice at the end of the song, but he didn't know exactly how that could happen.

The basic idea was that he would only speak a few horrific sentences as if he were acting in one of his famous roles, but the night before the shoot, producer Quincy Jones asked songwriter Rod Timberton to write down Vincent Price's sentences and not leave it to the improvisation.

The video was a major artistic event at the time of the song's release, as it presented elaborate dances and appropriate costumes, and established the concept of a long video or short film for filming the song.

The video won Best Performance and Best Choreography, and was chosen by the audience as Best Show at the MTV Video Music Awards.

This is not the first time that an album has been released after the singer's death, as the death may occur during the recording of the album and the album may be re-issued again in honor of the singer or to celebrate the music, as happened with the album "The Don Killuminati" by the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

The album was recorded and released in 3 days, a record time, and Shakur wanted to draw attention to alternative music, and indeed the album topped the sales just two months after Shakur's death of a gunshot wound in Vegas in 1996, and the lyrics of that album charged with emotion and anger helped shape the consciousness of a new generation of fans Rap and hip hop.

After the Beatles split, guitarist George Harrison released his most creative single as a solo.

After Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001, thanks to the efforts of his son Danny Harrison and his friend Jeff Lane, Harrison released an album called "Brainwashed".
