Suspected of being involved in a sextape blackmail affair, the mayor of Saint-Étienne, Gaël Perdriau, has come under attack from his opposition, which is demanding his departure, as have certain elected officials from the municipal majority.

For his part, the city councilor did not seem destabilized and again proclaimed his innocence.

Times are tough at the town hall of Saint-Étienne.

The mayor of the city, Gaël Perdriau, is in the sights of justice who suspects him of being involved in a case of blackmail on intimate video.

This Monday, the municipal council was held in a deleterious atmosphere, the oppositions vigorously demanding the departure of the city councilor.

Among them, the socialist Pierrick Courbon who set the tone from the start of the council.

"Gaël Perdriau, if you love Saint-Etienne, you must voluntarily waive all of your executive, municipal and metropolitan responsibilities for the time of the investigation, since you have lost the moral authority to preside over our debates. ."

"I can see that the manhunt is open"

Some elected officials from the majority of Gaël Perdriau are also on the offensive, like Lionel Bouchet, elected UDI and close to Gilles Artigues, the deputy whom the mayor is suspected of having blackmailed.

"I am ashamed every time Saint-Etienne, through your fault, is presented as a municipality in which mafia practices are exercised at the highest level. Today, I feel betrayed. Mr. Perdriau, leave! “, he asserted, somewhat reassembled.

"Mr. Perdriau, I raised my hand please", calls out an elected official who wanted to question the city councilor on the angry subject.

“Well I decided to go to report number 2”, evacuated the main interested party.
