Tempers flared in the queue for a new fast food restaurant specializing in chicken in the Port du Rhin district of Strasbourg.

The latter had promised 200 free meals to the first 200 to arrive, but the tone rose at lunch time in the large queue, reports

A fight broke out, at least between two people, and a Japanese sword was even pulled out.

Alerted by witnesses, the police had to intervene quickly to restore the situation but when they arrived, the two people had vanished.

The police were still positioned in front of the restaurant until around 5 p.m.

An investigation has been opened.

CCTV cameras in the area are being analyzed.
