“An issue submitted to a referendum is considered approved if more than half of the referendum participants included in the lists of referendum participants voted in favor of it,” TASS quoted her as saying.

Kravchenko added that as of September 23, 1,360,768 people were included in the lists of referendum participants.

“Thus, the decision at the referendum will be considered approved if 680,385 referendum participants vote in support of it with their vote on the ballot,” the head of the CEC noted.

Earlier, the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, said that according to the results of the first day, the turnout in the referendum in the republic was higher than expected.
