Two breakdowns in one week.

In Rennes, the start-up of line B of the metro experienced some hiccups.

Friday morning, a first incident was reported, causing a traffic interruption for only eight minutes.

But on Saturday, the breakdown took much longer to repair.

At 12:42 p.m., a train was thus blocked as it returned to the terminus of the line at Cesson-ViaSilva.

“It was sent to the workshop garage to carry out a complete diagnosis of its guidance system”, indicates Rennes Métropole and Keolis in a press release.

It was only at 2:09 p.m. that traffic partially resumed between the Saint-Germain and Cesson-ViaSilva stations before everything was back to normal at 3:55 p.m.

An “inevitable and essential” break-in period

Many are discovering the new line this weekend, but travelers have not been too affected by the breakdown.

They were thus able to get out "without difficulty from the metro since the other trains were at the platform, in the station" and were directed to the bus lines of the network and line A of the metro by Star agents.

After this breakdown, Rennes Métropole and Keolis wanted to put the incident into perspective, indicating that this period of adjustments was "both inevitable and essential".

“This period of break-in and adjustment is an integral part of the process which will allow us to reach a maximum level of performance, underlines the press release.

As a reminder, it took two years for line A of the metro to reach its current high level of reliability.
