Lavrov spoke about the ongoing referendums in the LPR, DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions

“The West threw a tantrum because of the referendums currently taking place in the LPR, DPR, Kharkiv and Zaporozhye regions of Ukraine.

But the people living there, in fact, only react to the fact that Zelensky recommended the Kyiv regime to them in one of his interviews in August last year, ”he said.

Lavrov recalled that at one time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky advised the residents of Donbass to "get out to Russia."

“Then he advised everyone who feels Russian, for the sake of their children and grandchildren, to “get out to Russia.”

This is what the residents of the mentioned regions are doing now, taking their lands with them,” the minister stressed.

In August 2021, Zelensky declared that the Donbass "will never be Russian territory" and recommended that the Donbass "look for a place for themselves in Russia."
