“We have repeatedly proposed over the years to agree on the rules for coexistence in Europe based on the principle of equal and indivisible security, affirmed at the highest level in OSCE documents,” he said.

As the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized, the latest proposal on this topic, provided by the Russian side, was received "an arrogant refusal."

“We submitted the last proposal on the need to make this principle legally binding in December 2021, to which we received an arrogant refusal,” Lavrov said.

Earlier, the director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Alexander Darchiev, said that the United States, by its actions, had brought relations with Russia to the point of no return, Washington would have to reckon with Moscow's interests.
