Half a thousand people have come to the El Molino equestrian center in El Pardo (Madrid) on Saturday to denounce that many of the animals on the premises are abandoned and in terrible hygienic conditions.

Led by Daniel Esteve, from the Rescatando association, they have tried unsuccessfully to enter the facilities to save one of these animals.

Agents of the Municipal Police, the National Police and the Civil Guard have come to the premises where no type of incident has been recorded, although there have been moments of maximum tension when some of the users of the center have gone out for a walk with their horses.

According to the complaint of the concentrates and based on the photographs they have, there are corpses of horses, ponies, cats and dogs on the farm.

Protesters have provided photographic evidence showing that many horses are tied up, dying and starving, and have called out for an end to the torture they suffer.

They have come with banners where you could read: "Animals do not touch" or "We are your voice."

Daniel Esteve has explained that they are not going to stop until they put an end to the "horrible horse racing".

"Today people from Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante have come to Madrid. We are going to fight to try not to lay hands on any of the animals", Esteve pointed out.

The concentrates have left the door of the facilities without being able to rescue several of the animals, including a dog.

The videos published by Rescatando show that they are in deplorable conditions in the stables and have serious leg injuries.

The owner denies that he mistreats animals and assures that he is the victim of harassment.

Specifically, he has denounced Esteve for coercion and threats after the founder of Desokupa entered the facilities this week to save a dog that had been tied up and locked in a cage for years.

The National Police has confirmed that there are cross complaints between Daniel Esteve and the owner.

For several months, the Rescatando organization had discovered the situation of the animals after receiving complaints from several people who claimed that the horses were mistreated and were extremely thin.

They found out that some were buried under tons of waste.

Others were buried with sand after dying, according to Rescuing.

In one of the videos broadcast it can be seen that at least 14 horses are tied up all day, surrounded by excrement and urine and unable to lie down.

"They are innocent animals sentenced for life," they explain in the filming.

One of the center's workers also denounced that several of the animals lacked

health cards

and microchips.

The dogs had not received the required veterinary treatments and also had numerous external parasites.

There are employees who assure that the owner of the equestrian club is dedicated to shooting cats with illegal weapons on the farm.

He then left the corpses without burying or incinerating them, according to Daniel Esteve's complaint.

They also add that he has three people working in subhuman conditions who are paid salaries in black.

The owner denies it to his partners, but does not want to speak to the journalists.

The enclosure has a restaurant and several stables for horses.

It has numerous partners, rents out horses and is also used by owners of these animals to leave them on the premises.

"I'm sure many members don't know that there is a part of horse racing where animals are mistreated," explained one of the protesters, who indicated that people are "tired of there being people who dedicate themselves to humiliating and trampling on beings so innocent".

This is one of the most serious cases that the Rescuing entity has encountered since more than a year ago it has managed to free and save more than 3,000 animals.

Volunteers go to look for animals in poor condition and then transport them to centers where they can recover and treat illnesses and injuries.
